PART A: YOU, THE WRITER

Taking creative writing has really helped as a writer, it helped me venture through different writing styles and different writers.

In this course, ever since I started writing, I focused more on romance and made it my favorite genre for writing. For some reason I found it fun to play with the concept of romance in a young adult’s life, and see how different it is from on screen lives. Before I would always try out  different genres at once, and it made hard for me to  focus on the important ones, but this year because of creative writing I found romance to be my favorite literary genre. As an improving writer I would ask all my other writers to read, read and read. Reading does bring the good in you, its the energy to your thoughts. If you consume all the energy for your thoughts, everything works out perfectly. So, reading is really the only thing that can let writer to create amazing pieces of work.

PART B: YOU,THE BLOGGER

To be very frank, I found this blog to be very challenging at the beginning of this course. But the more we wrote in class, the more easier it got for me to put my words out here in the internet. I always struggled as a writer, but writing for at least 20 minutes per day in class, increased my confidence in my own writing.

One of my favorite fellow bloggers are:

PART C: YOU, THE STUDENT

My forever favorite activity in creative writing class were the river walks. It gave us all a chance to connect with  nature, and explore our minds in the open. And the elderly home visit was one of the most memorable moments of my life, I got the chance to communicate with a very self-respected and experienced woman in the senior home. I learned a lot from her and I really hope to visit her again in life.

As a reader,  I have recognized the importance of reading in life. Reading really helps a writer, and one of my favorite books that I read this semester was, Pathfinder. It had a very interesting concept behind the story, and it was the worth the time. For next year, I would challenge myself to read more books, and discover favorite authors as I move ahead.

PART D: YOU, THE FAN

In  this class I got the chance to look at different authors through writers seminars. It really expanded my knowledge on the different types of authors that are out there in this world. Every author had their own skills to share about writing, and it helped me in improving my own writing skills. Professional writers had a lot to say about their writing, but the only thing that stood out every time was, read more. This one piece of advice is something that I will always keep to myself.

The guest speakers we had this year were amazing. I loved having them in our class, as they all shared their life stories with us. Which I thought was really bold. Every person that we met, had a different story to share and it showed me how every person has so much to experience in life. Every day has it’s own story and meaning behind it. They all inspired me a lot, and encouraged me to  find meaning and live our life to its full.

PART E: YOU, THE CRITIC OF YOUR WORK

Piece 1: https://lilredroses.edublogs.org/tag/poem/

The title of my first piece is, the heart still desires you. I titled it this because, the poem desires what the poet wants, and it is her lovers presence in life. She wants it so badly that it’s equivalent to the flow of blood to her heart. I wanted this piece’s title to be simple and I actually did not think about the title, but as I kept writing the poem everything just fell in place. The movie notebook played a huge role in the reason why I wrote this poem, that movie still puts me in tears, and the love those two shared in the movie was surreal. So, I went for the purity of a person’s feelings when they fall for someone and wrote how I thought real love felt like.

I kept reading the poem many times and asked my friends to help me with the grammar, I tried fixing the flow of my poem and came up with the best I could. Asking help from my friends really helped me as they could brought out mistakes that I could not. But overall, I really liked this piece, and I hope to improve my writing on poems.

Piece 2: https://lilredroses.edublogs.org/tag/freechoice/

I kept the title of this piece very simple which is, an historical story. The title is self explanatory, as I shared an historical event for my free choice. I chose to do this because, I had watched the movie based on the historical event and it left me speechless for days. The culture, the story, the work, and everything related to the movie made me fall in love with it. I had to research a lot for this piece, as history can be very confusing at times. But i loved the end result, and I am very glad that I got a chance to share one of my favorite historical events on my own blog.
